r.i.p. richard carelton

About an hour or two ago, veteran Channel Nine reporter had a heart attack during a press conference at the Beaconsfield Gold Mine in Tasmania.

He died soon after.

He died doing what he loved - reporting, getting the story - journalism was his life.

I wasn't an avid 60 Minutes viewer, so I can't say that I followed his work or his career much at all. But he was dedicated to his chosen profession and pushed the boundaries and challenged his talent to provide good viewing.

Richard and his journalism will be sorely missed.

Didn't like him. Didn't like his style of sensationalist journalism. I actually hear his last question live and it was a typical attempt to create controversy at an inapproriate time. Sympathies to his family but I'm not sorry to see him off air.
