it's that time again - jesspress!

So I haven't blogged in a week.

Bad Jess.

Rap over the knuckles.
"Don't. You. Ever. Ever. Ever. Neglect. Your. Blog. Like. That. Ever. Ever. Ever. Again."

Yes, ma'am.

So yes, many exciting things happened in the past week. These included:
*Interviewing a very cool Swiss guy for my radio assignment. It's a good feeling to interview someone who thinks that they're not interesting, only for them to come to the realisation that they are fascinating. In this case, the guy was an identical triplet, ex-chocolatier, who once had a search party looking for him while he was obliviously bushwalking. And he thought he wasn't interesting...

*Getting mail! Not only from my great-uncle in Mt Gambier. But from Karolina over yonder in the Faroe Islands. Now I have some interesting stamps to add to my collection.... I have a stamp collection?

*I caught up with my friend Jo, who's spent the best part of two years in Esperance, doing some pretty amazing stuff.

*When I caught up with Jo at a cafe, I saw someone at another table who looked very familiar... except for the fact that I thought she was home on the other side of the country, not in Australia. But it was indeed Luana who is over here from Switzerland for four or five months. Yay! Many crazy adventures to come!

*Last night I had my 21st. This deserves another post complete with anecdotes and pictures of people in party garb. Anyone who took photos, please email them to me! Does anyone know who gave me the snuffleupagus T-shirt? Because I love it to death, I just wasn't able to remember who gave it to me.

*Today Avril's parental units arrived from 'the other other side of the world' (being Texas, as opposed to 'the other side of the world' which i have now decided to be switzerland). They seem very nice. They enjoy my coffee making skills. Avril's mum bought over a beautiful blanket that she made for me. It's yellow with butterflies, bumblebees, ladybugs and the like. It is very warm indeed, which is why it is keeping me warm.
