a veritable menagerie

As of Friday, we have 8 creatures living under on roof.

Six of them are human, two of them are animals.

No doubt, you've already heard about Cinder, the ragdoll kitten who does crazy things. For instance, today Cinder put her mousie in my sneaker so that when I was getting ready for mixed netball today, I thought something was wrong with my shoe. Why can't she attack my smelly work shoes?

But as for this other animal, she (or he) is much quieter and less psycho than Cinder.
Mum's birthday was on Friday. She was out in the yard doing whatever people do in their yard when she saw this canary eating seeds on the lawn. She walked right up to it and it didn't fly away. That's one reason to suspect it is a very domesticated bird. Mum also saw some bigger birds eyeing off the canary so she decided to catch it. She got Dad to help her put the canary in one of our old budgie cages.

When Dad caught her, he said, "Well, aren't you lucky?"

So just when you think this household couldn't get any bigger, we have a new canary called Lucky.
