Where did I have it?
Domestic airport Virgin Blue terminal.
Mum and I went out to the airport to go and say goodbye to my cousin Marc. He's going to the Cayman Islands to work indefinitely. The Cayman Islands is in the Carribean, kind of near Cuba. Think picture perfect travel show style resort island. That's it. Much jealousy is to be had.
Anyhoo, it was late. At least late for a Sunday night. We had a while to wait until Marc went through the doors of no return, so my uncle took us to the Dome cafe there and took orders from everyone. Loads of lattes, a hot chocolate and a flat white. Some party pooper had tea.
We were expecting a wait, so we started talking. That's the cool thing about having Italian relatives, there are definitely no awkward silences. So when the coffees finally arrived, we were gobsmacked. I'd never seen coffee glasses the size of this before.

No serioiusly, they were like pint glasses filled with glorious, glorious coffee. I stole this picture a size via google imaging "big latte". But it was pretty much that size.
It was a really good coffee. Unlike Dome's International terminal cousin that has yucky burnt, too hot coffee, the coffee we had last night was creamy and nice and just the right temperature.
Unfortunately, the bizarre sideffects were yet to come.
Usually I ignore the fact that I am lactose intolerant. Usually that work because I don't drink a huge amount in one sitting. But with my pint latte, I had one huge tummy ache.
The other problem was that I had the tired body/alert head syndrome. That meant that because it was so late at night, my body didn't flinch at the addition of caffeine to my system, but my brain did. So I spent the whole ride home wanting to sleep yet thinking lots.
But eventually the body won out, I fell asleep in front of the TV.
So... yeah. Big latte. Huuuuuuuuge latte. Good stuff...ish.
