I could blog about many things right now. There's always something interesting in my life to blog about.
But somehow it doesn't seem quite right to be blogging about mere trivialities when a couple of thousand kilometres away there are people who have been killed or injured by others who obviously don't place a high value on human life.
I agree with ToxicPurity, we shouldn't make it seem like this set of bombings are aimed specifically at Australia because put simply, it isn't. The death toll at the moment consists of more Koreans than Australians. And yes, it's shocking that Australians have been killed. One of them is a teenager from Perth. And Perth is like a big country town - you always know someone through a friend of a friend. This will have a huge impact on our country. But we were not the sole target. If we were the sole target, we would have been attacked on our own soil (although many could argue that Bali is practically the seventh state of Australia). The one thing I can say is that we are doing our part. Just like last time, Australians with expertise are being sent over to help. Our hospitals are ready to take some of these victims. We are helping where we can.
