wii, sleep and brunch

Welcome to my weekend. For those in the know, my weekend officially goes from Sunday to Monday. Retail stuffs up any semblance of having a normal weekend like a normal person.

The big evil corporation has become decidedly evil. Orders from the top has meant that people are being forced onto contracts that make them work Tuesday to Saturday every week. Everyone's complaining and quite frankly, I don't blame them. The reason why retail businesses employ casual workers is to work on Saturdays, not to make their full and part timers stuff up their family lives.

While we're still on the subject of the big evil corporation, I still haven't been paid yet. Pay day was last Tuesday. I will get paid tomorrow. Effectively, one week late. I've spent this entire week cleaning, cleaning, cleaning the messiest storeroom in the entire world. I really should have taken before and after shots. But alas. It is now very very clean. My feet are killing me and I am wrecked from just doing so much. On the brightside, whenever I needed a break, I would just go and play Wii (I always wonder why Nintendo decided to name their console after urine, but who am I to judge? It's fun to say WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!) Wii is fun. I have my own Mii on the Wii. Would you like to see my Mii that's on the Wii? I fear that I'm digressing into Dr Seuss. Not that that's a bad thing...

I had a job interview on Thursday morning. It was your standard phone interview for the type of job that I've been applying for over the past few months. Fifty minutes long. Three to five important sounding people on the interview panel. Let's look at your selection criteria. How do you exercise editiorial judgement? What makes a good story? How do you work in a team? What are your thoughts on the editorial policy? What do you do once you've taken a photo on a digital camera? It's all pretty standard for that job with that company. They didn't bring up my meltdown in Karratha (hmmm that sounds like a good name for a horror film: Meltdown in Karratha!) so that could only be a positive. I don't know whether I've done well or badly. I would edge closer and closer to saying I did well, but I don't know if I got the job.

So after all that fun-filled, action packed stuff, I slept. For 12 hours. I then woke up and decided that I wanted brunch. The best brunch food is Cinnamon French Toast from C15. Yum.
