I have a recurring dream. No. Please don't fall asleep, this may actually be interesting*
It's been recurring about once a year for three or four years. The circumstances of the dream is normally complete nonsense because that's what my dreams are. But somewhere in my crazy dream land, I lose a tooth. Hey, losing a tooth isn't terribly interesting or exciting in a dream because let's face it, everyone loses teeth. The fact that it's so vivid in the dream is the crazy part.
When the tooth falls out in a dream, I can feel and taste the raw gum and the gap is very noticable. So much so that when I wake up, I run my tongue along my teeth just to make sure that each and every one of my teeth are firmly in place.
People in the world of dream interpretation say that having dreams about your teeth is one of the most common dreams you could possibly have. It either means that you don't like your physical appearance enough or another option is that you feel like you're frustrated or are incredibly anxious. Adam says this fits the bill perfectly. He also had a bit of an 'Ah ha!' moment when I said I'd only had the dreams over the past three or four years - basically the entire time I've been at uni.
However, the day before I had this dream, I had visited the dentist for the first time in five years. He was very happy with how I had looked after my teeth.
So what do you think this is? A 'she's just been to the dentist' dream or a recurring dream with some hidden meaning? Have you had 'the tooth dream' as well?
*ok, it may not, but by the time you read this little addendum, perhaps it will be

I'd love to say, "DENTIST!" but my mum has had the same kind of dreams when she is worn out and anxious - so I vote with Adam, that it's uni, my dearest...
