the day the cheap movie tickets died

Yesterday I was bored and being a lovelorn lady of lesiure this week, I decided that I'd take myself on a date to the movies. I got to choose the movie and pick where I wanted to sit.

There was only one downside of the whole afternoon.

I wasn't a student anymore.

I'd been spolit for eight years, getting student discount for everything I saw. And before that, I was a kid and a very short one at that, so I got in for even less back then.

But yesterday, when I went to see the musical tour de force, Dreamgirls (the defintion of musical being: Any film or stage production where they break into song, when a simple conversation will do), I had to pay four dollars more than I would previously.

Feeling slightly ripped off, I didn't indulge in the candy bar.
