perfect day

Yesterday was very, very good.

It was amazing on one hand because it was the first day in a long time that Adam and I had a day together that didn't involve one of us needing to go to work later

actually no, I lie. Adam got called into work at the last minute last night, but that was once all of the good stuff had happened.

We started off by going to an amazing French patisserie in the hills for brunch. I introduced Adam to the amazing world of French pastries by buying him an almod croissant. I had the usual pain au chocolat and a bowl of coffee. Yes. A bowl of coffee.

After that, we didn't know what to do, so we kept driving. For all of the complaining and whingeing, the Roe Hwy is the best invention ever. I say this, simply because you can go from Adam's house to the hills in 15 mins and from the hills to the Swan Valley in another 15.

So we drove aimlessly around the Swan Valley after being bloated on pastry and milk drinks. It wasn't quite 11am so we couldn't drink anywhere.

But during the ABC's 11am bulletin describing all sorts of doom and gloom (my opinions on that in a later post), we saw a sign for a brewery.

So we had a tasting tray, of quite honestly bad beer. And left on the hunt for nougat, then port.

Then we didn't care where we went anymore, just so long as it was a little winery. We turned off at the next small winery that we found that wasn't closed on a wednesday.

It happened to the small winery in the Swan Valley. It also happened to sell organic wines. It also happened to be surprisingly nice.

So there we go, the best thing are more often than not very unplanned.
