So whilst Adam may be wanting to get angrier than angry at Curtin Uni's admin (the temptation to name and shame departments and individuals is growing stronger by the day), I'm as happy as Larry with the two unis I attend at the moment. It must have been something to do with my lucky yellow undies because I had a blast organising my cross institutional enrolment for next semester.
First I had to go to Murdoch and get it approved from their side of the fence. I went to the student office and went, "Approve this for me, please (because I'm a polits girl who always says please). Oh and by the way, I know most 2nd and 3rd year units are worth four points here, but because I'll be studying the unit at ECU, will it be worth three or four points?"
It was crucial for it to be worth four points because otherwise I'd be one point (or effectively, one unit) out from being able to graduate.
She didn't know, so she told me to go and ask the accreditation officer.
I asked him, he said the unit would be worth three points.
I freaked out.
Then he said that the university allows people who are one point out from completing the course to still be able to graduate. So long as the unit that makes it one point out is a general elective.
The unit is a general elective and I will be finished at the end of the year.
Huzzah!
Then I went to ECU to lodge the other half of the application, so I could actually study the unit that I wanted to do there. Usually there's a bajillion people at their student services, but today there was only one person ahead in the queue.
Must have been the yellow undies...
