very important announcement.

Everyone, I'm bi.

Lingual that is. I don't want to kiss girls, they don't have stubble to play with. Besides, Adam is the hottest thing since um.... the sun! Stop freaking out. *breathe* I just wanted to make your hearts skip a little beat for a second. It's ok, you can let out a chuckle and admit that you want to hurt me for that gag.

Aaaaaaaaaanyway. About the bilingualness.

I was watching Wayne's World last night in French with the hope that it may help further my linguistic skills.

It just freaked me out. On many levels.

1. It freaked me out to watch it from a French person's point of view. Some things just don't translate well into French from American culture.

2. That in turn freaked me out because I understand all the gags in Wayne's World, which got me thinking, "Australia isn't really that different, is it?"

3. I then got freaked out on a disappointed level. You know that scene at the beginning where they're all in the Mirth Mobile singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody. In the English version you have all of the guys singing along. When it's dubbed into French, you've only got Freddie Mercury and his band of merry gentlemen. No French dubbing actors singing along. Travesty!

4. The catch phrase being changed from 'Wayne's World, Wayne's World, Party Time, Excellent!' to 'Wayne's World, Wayne's World, Mega-teuf, Excellent' is very disappointing.

Next time, I'm watching Casablanca dubbed into French. Fun for the whole family. I wonder how the French voice actors can pull off Humphrey Bogart's voice in that...
