valuable lessons learnt today

I learnt two valuable lessons today.

1. Online Indoctrinations... I mean, Online Inductions for big evil corporations are always boring, monotonous and repetitive. But. You get paid for six hours of work even if you complete it in three like I did. Yippee!

2. How to drink beer like a bogan - I wanted to try Sail & Anchor's new berry beer. So I sent Adam to the bar to get me a midi (read: smaller glass of beer for all you non-beeries out there - names for beer glasses will vary from state to state) of this berry stuff. But they ran out and told Adam that they'd get him a pint (read: massive glass of beer) of wheat beer for the same price of a midi. Before he got to protest they'd already poured it. I freaked out when I saw the pint and said, 'How on earth am I going to drink all of that?' I started drinking it. I only got a little bit of the way through it when Adam said, 'No, no! You're drinking it all wrong. You're drinking it like a naive suburban girl sipping at it. It tastes worse when you sip it because it's only a little bit in your mouth and it goes straight to the bitter taste buds which are right at the front of the tongue.' I looked at him as though he may very well be insane (plus he had bought me a Long Island Iced Tea prior to the beer so I may have been a wee bit impaired). 'You've gotta get a decent amount in your mouth, keep it there for a second, swallow it and then go "ahhh" or "mmmm". Try it!'
So I did and it worked. It tasted better and I got through it quicker. After that, it was definitely Whopper time at Hungry Jacks across the street.

I love the Sail & Anchor. Especially the upstairs balcony in the arvo. It's not too quiet, but it's not really really ridiculously busy like at night. I think it'll be my Freo hangout place when the weather gets too hot for coffee.

Yeah, i gotta say, bogans know how to drink fast. So does Nick. maybe he should give you lessons.
BTW its spelled 'middy'. 'Midi' both looks to exotic and will confuse sound engineers.... :P
