I was working at Curtin fm this morning and I had to take out a student to do vox pops. It was all about the a federal MP's proposal to make a mock Gallipoli in Victoria so that people who couldn't get to Gallipoli or couldn't afford to get to Gallipoli to get a feel for the event. The idea is sheer stupidity, why would you go to a fake one - it's obviously not the real thing, it's never going to be, it wouldn't have the same feel even if it tried.

Anyway, back to the vox pops, we asked one very cynical guy and here's what he said:

"Yeah, let's make Normandy somewhere else so we can recreate D-Day! We have some bridges, let's recreate the Kokoda Track! I reckon it's all just stupid!"

Yeah, what he said...
