those cra-hazy kiwis

New Zealanders are funny. We get one of their tv shows here in Australia. It's called Motorway Patrol. I think it's meant to be one of those serious reality tv shows. But it's just hilarious. It had mum and Adam and I laughing very hard.
I don't know whether it's the mixture of New Zealand accents - which are hilarious at the best of times, but way overblown on this show, the weird situations they show are what makes it so funny.

From the show last night, we found out that New Zealanders have rusty trailers, so they have yachts on their freeway. They also like to have sexually deviant chickens (le coq du bonheur indeed) loose on the freeway complete with their heads digitally altered to protect the innocent. People also get bogged a lot. Ooh, and drunk drivers roll their cars, find out their car still works (but is written off nonetheless), so they keep driving. I want to go and live in New Zealand just for the comedy factor.

I think the funniest thing is the police people still use New Zealand-isms such as "bro", "cuz" as well as frequently saying 'Ok' or 'yeah?' and the end of sentences. They sound really matey which is probably what makes it so hard to take them seriously.

Stay tuned next Friday when the Motorway Patrol heroes discover a half naked man on Auckland's Harbour Bridge...
Brilliant. Can't wait.

I've seen that show too! I can't take Kiwis seriously since Merrick & Rosso's Choice Bro Tafe.

Funny stuff!
